Mari-Carmen is the Founder of Matresa, a maternal health platform transforming how employers and healthcare systems support women through pregnancy, postpartum, and return to work. A former nurse, she left clinical practice after seeing firsthand the gaps in maternal care and has since raised pre-seed venture capital to build a better model. She now works with enterprise and healthcare partners to improve maternity provision at scale.
Her work has been recognised through a research partnership with Warwick and features in GB News, The Guardian, Yop 50 women in Tech 2026and other publications, where she is regularly cited as an expert.
