Putting the West Midlands on the map for Birmingham Tech Week.

#MADETOBESEEN

When TechWM founder, Yiannis Maos, came to us, his mission was bold: to make Birmingham Tech Week the unmissable event on the UK’s innovation calendar. With more than 7,500 attendees expected, the festival was already the UK’s largest regional tech conference, but it needed a campaign and a narrative thread that matched its ambition and national potential.

THE STRATEGY & THE RESULTS

We led a full-scale PR and communications campaign from pre-launch to post-event, designed to build momentum, attract national attention, and showcase the strength of the West Midlands’ tech ecosystem. From ongoing press releases and partner announcements to media interviews, festival previews, and a virtual press conference, we made sure Birmingham Tech Week dominated the headlines. Our on-the-ground press office worked across all five days of the festival, supported by 60+ media and content students from BMet, ensuring every story and speaker moment was captured. The results spoke for themselves: 70 pieces of coverage, 65.7 million impressions, and 10x more media reach than the previous year. Coverage highlights included Forbes, City AM, Insider, UK Tech News, and Business Live; cementing the West Midlands’ reputation as the UK’s fastest-growing tech hub.

THE OUTCOME

Birmingham Tech Week 2023 became a record-breaking moment for regional innovation: elevating both the festival and the city it represents onto the national stage.
