Lucy Hope is a pioneering entrepreneur in women’s health innovation and founder of The Daughters of Mars, a menstrual health start-up developing the world’s first patented bioactive tampon designed to protect the vaginal microbiome during menstruation.
Much of her work is at the intersection of biotechnology and textiles. She has secured over £1 million in healthtech grant funding and was recognised with the Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award 2025 and Business Insider’s 42 under 42. Lucy is a leading authority on gender health equity and has spoken at the Royal Society, Westminster and the V&A on innovation and regulation in textiles and women’s health.
