THESTUDIOLEEDS MAKES A STATEMENT BY KEEPING THINGS AU NATURAL

thestudio is no stranger to reinvigorating the mundane and with preserved moss walls and a display of silver birch trunks, its Leeds venue is no exception. The unusual interior is the brainchild of local interior landscaping experts Vantage, who worked with thestudio to create the statement pieces that bring the great outdoors to the inside walls.

Unveiled in September 2015, thestudioleeds is the third branch of the thriving multipurpose venue company, which has existing sites in Birmingham and Manchester. Having already cemented its reputation for having a fresh and colourful take on the typically monochrome corporate world, the eclectic event experts wanted to think of new ways to liven up their space. This is where Vantage stepped in, sourcing silver birch trunks from its horticultural partner in Holland, vibrant seating planters, and a 2100mmx1920mm preserved moss wall.

Commenting on the collaboration, Emma Jennings, thestudio’s managing director, said, ‘It took us four years to find the perfect Leeds venue, and we’ve maintained contact with Vantage for the duration of this search. As soon as we signed the contract they swung into action to support our six-week interior fit out schedule.

‘The displays are incredible, with the moss wall a particular talking point – everyone wants to touch it! This is exactly the impact we hoped the plants would have. We really care about our customers’ experience with us from the moment they set foot in the door, and these design features really deliver the wow factor we sought.’

Greenery is important to thestudio and has pride of place in both of its other venues, with a landscaped roof garden in Birmingham and a green roof in Manchester. However, being positioned on the eighth floor of Riverside West, this looked to be an issue in Leeds. As ever though, thestudio and Vantage delivered when it came to thinking outside the box.

Emma says, ‘when we settled on the property for our new Leeds venture, we knew we’d have to bring the outside in. I don’t think we appreciated just how effective this interior planting would be though. Now, as we excitedly plan for the opening of our fourth venue, we’re full of ideas to make this space a really unique topic of conversation too.’
