THESTUDIOGLASGOW BUILDS UP TO BIG OPENING

With only two weeks to go until thestudioglasgow opens its doors to the UK’s fourth largest population, work is well and truly underway at the Weegie site. Set to unveil the venue on 1 September, thestudioglasgow has relied on the hard graft of local construction company ADT Workplace to pull its vision together. The team behind the scenes have spent seven weeks on site, putting over 3,000 man-hours into the project.

6.75 tonnes of plasterboard have already passed through the doors, covering a total of 810 square metres. Nothing short of 20,000 screws, 1,100 square metres of flooring, and 4,000 litres of paint have been used to bring the site to life. It is no surprise at the outstanding results of the building project, since in order to carry out the job, 78 litres of Irn Bru and 23 free range haggis have been consumed. Never fear though: the team have burned off any of the excess, having climbed 2,250 flights of stairs while on site; the equivalent of taking one plasterboard 6.975km vertically!

Commercial Director Julian Kettleborough is eagerly anticipating the September opening, and the opportunity to show Scotland what thestudioglasgow has to offer. He said:

“After all of the hard work that has gone into making our new venue the best it could possibly be, I can hardly wait to get the people of Glasgow through the doors! We are so excited to be part of Glasgow’s thriving business community, and we hope to use our tried and tested methods in this brand new location to work with people of this fantastic city.”

thestudioglasgow is located at 67 Hope Street and comprises of six meeting rooms. The main room boasts stunning views over the city, revealing hidden architecture from up on the ninth floor.

Blending traditional Glasgow with contemporary design; an original façade on one side and stylish glass front on the other, sets the tone of the new venue. Inside there’s a space for every need, with rooms that suit two to 250, and every capacity in between. True to thestudio’s style, there is a Scottish Icon wall behind the reception, depicting favourites like Tunnocks Tea cakes, the Wallace Monument and even The Krankies. There’s also an image of a cliff face, complete with authentic handholds, outside the largest space – Climb.

Each room will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, providing a comfortable and stylish environment for maximum productivity: guests can expect every room to have wireless internet connection, HDMI data projectors, Apple TV and integrated sound systems.

This is thestudio’s fourth venue, and the events experts want to bring what they have learnt from the success of its other venues in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds to the vibrant heart of Glasgow. Whilst the atmosphere at thestudioglasgow will be ideal for customers to maximise productivity and professionalism, thestudio team prides themselves on their ‘Work Hard, Play Hard’ mantra.

Those who know thestudio will be pleased to hear that it will be bringing its colourful approach to the typically monochrome corporate world. Customers will be able to fuel their creativity with delicious meals cooked on-site with locally sourced ingredients by thestudio’s chefs, not to mention free-flowing hot drinks and snacks throughout the day.
