The catering team at thestudio has been recognised for its commitment to delivering food of the highest standard by the Soil Association. thestudio’s catering partner, Catering Academy, was presented with the prestigious bronze award for food for life, guaranteeing that the meals are not only delicious, but are prepared with only the freshest ingredients.
The award was granted in August and is the result of thorough assessments carried out by the Soil Association, with no leaf left unturned. By being given the bronze seal of approval, it confirms that all of the food served across thestudio’s four sites fulfil the Soil Association’s criteria of being fresh, healthy, seasonal, traceable, and sustainable. The bronze award for food for life guarantees that all the meals prepared use only seasonal vegetables, ‘red tractor’ meat and eggs from free range hens, all of which are free from additives and trans fats.
Commercial Director of thestudio Julian Kettleborough was particularly pleased with the Catering Academy’s accolade, saying:
“thestudio has partnered with the Catering Academy since 2006 and while we’ve always been over the moon with the level of service, this award is the icing on the cake! We are proud to offer our customers award-winning meals that keep hunger at bay throughout the day but also taste great and are ethically produced. We already have the silver award firmly set in our sights!”
The awards criteria also stipulates that menus should be seasonally focused, an element that thestudio’s offering takes seriously. The menus are updated four times a year with tasting events held before they are made official to find out which menu items make its customers tick. Some of the current winning dishes to feature on thestudio’s summer menu are lemon pepper salmon on a warm potato salad, sticky Korean chicken with egg fried rice, and black pepper balsamic strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake.
“Our tasting events have become a staple of thestudio’s calendar, as it is a great opportunity to find out what our customers want and for the chefs to get feedback on the meals that they provide. Not to mention, it is always nice to spend the afternoon eating a week’s worth of food!” Kettleborough added.
Mealtimes are a key part of thestudio experience, as the event experts know that in order to be productive, you need to be fully charged. All of thestudio’s customers are able to fuel their creativity with meals cooked on-site with locally sourced ingredients by thestudio’s chefs, not to mention free-flowing hot drinks and snacks throughout the day.
