THESTUDIO PROVIDES FOOD FOR THOUGHT AFTER THREE SUCCESSFUL CSR INITIATIVES

It’s no secret that the way to the heart is through the stomach, and event experts thestudiois making the most of this fact, with national and regional corporate social responsibility initiatives sure to make your mouth water and heart flutter. Not only has the team been serving up award-winning meals for over a decade, it has cooked up deals with Foodinate, Nutrition and Diet Resource, and homeless support organisation Let’s Feed Brum. The collaborations have seen thestudiodonate leftover food to the homeless, establish a line of gluten free cakes which support food projects, and most ambitiously, publish its own cookbook, balanceas a not-for-profit publication.

thestudiohas been closely involved with a large Birmingham-based group of dedicated volunteers, Let’s Feed Brum. The group, which was set up two years ago, head out to the streets of Birmingham each day providing homeless citizens with essential supplies, food, access to support services, and friendship. thestudiois amongst a long list of other restaurants and food companies in the city, that has teamed up to provide hearty meals ready to be served to the homeless and has achieved immense success in reducing food waste across its sites.

The latter is thestudio’s most recent project, which is now available to purchase at all of thestudiovenues and online via their studio website www.studiovenues.co.ukand www.ndr-uk.org/balance.Balanceis a cookbook designed and created in conjunction with registered charity, Nutrition & Diet Resources UK – a not-for-profit organisation that works towards producing resources for health professionals, with all of the book’s proceeds being donated to the cause.

The book is a first for thestudio, and the team is well-aware that conferences and cookbooks might not seem like a natural recipe. However, the company is known for thinking outside the box, and after it received a number of compliments from clients across its four venues about the food on offer, it decided to rise to the challenge of creating balance. The cookbook aims to please their regular clients, but also appeal to the general public, looking to discover and cook up a variety of delicious, wholesome, nutritious meals in the comfort of their own home. The book also focuses on the need to be able to adapt to and be inclusive to special diets such as meat free, vegan, diary free and gluten free, and this expert knowledge has come from the team at NDR-UK, the charity where the cookbook’s proceeds will be helping.

Co-founder and Director of thestudio, Emma Jennings, commented about the incredible work so far across the four sites:

“Food is right at the heart of thestudioacross all our venues, and because we’re a small company, we also pride ourselves on giving something back to our communities. Over the past decade, we’ve been able to support a range of different food-related projects all working tirelessly to make a difference, and it’s something myself and the rest of thestudioteam are proud to have been a part of.”

After announcing their national partnership back in November, thestudio and Foodinate’s relationship has gone from strength to strength after thestudiomanaged to accumulate over 1,000 sales of their Foodinate Fancy Cakes across thestudio’s four venues.

thestudio’s mission was simple – asking its customers to grab a slice of the feel-good by offering them a variety of gluten free treats to sweeten their delegates afternoon refreshment break. All priced at £1.70, every delicious cake purchased provides a nutritious hot meal for a person in need in that local community.

There are currently 13 million people in the UK living below the poverty line and Foodinate is striving to combat this. The organisation has already started to make waves, having already provided over 26,000 hot meals to for people in need in local communities all over the UK since its 2016 launch, and over 1,000 of these have been down to thestudio venues, who are all hoping to continue the successful support of Foodinate’s mission.

Emma continued to say:

“We want thestudioto be a place where people are proud to visit because of the work we do with the local community – we want them to feel good about their experience, and I believe what we’ve been able to achieve so far has certainly made our clients very happy and given them the inspiration to also give back to the people. thestudiohas always prided itself on putting the customer first, and this is now being resonated across the communities where our venues are based, embracing those who may not be so fortunate in the city.”
