CLOSING THE THERAPY GAP: ACCESSIBLE THERAPY AND COUNSELLING NEAR YOU

As an agency, we passionately believe that every individual should be able to access the right support for their mental health and wellbeing. One of the most effective treatments for a number of mental health conditions and disorders is counselling or therapy, with a 2017 NHS report revealing that more than half of patients who receive psychological therapy recover. However, as a result of a public health system under immense pressure and the high costs of seeking private treatment, many individuals suffering with poor mental health are unable to seek professional mental health support. In addition, a recent survey from The UK Council for Psychotherapy found that 57% of patients who were offered mental health services faced considerable barriers in accessing them. This World Mental Health Day, we’re helping close the therapy gap, by spotlighting accessible services and resources across the nation because everybody deserves the right to be able to get help, whenever they need it.
