Meet Tara, the driving force behind EAST VILLAGE. Having found the agency in 2013, she leads with a radical vision: to empower women and underrepresented founders, creating a more equitable playing field in business. Responsible for what the business looks like on the outside, she also leads on vision, strategy, and new business at EV.
With over 16 years’ experience, working both agency and client side, Tara is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur whose career began working for the ultimate purpose-driven female founder: Stella McCartney. From there, she went on to work for leading fashion and retail brands, as well as both multi-national and independent hospitality and arts organisations.
Tara’s passion for equality extends far beyond EAST VILLAGE. She spearheads initiatives to increase diversity and inclusion across investment, leadership, and skills development. This includes her roles as Chair of TechWM’s Women in Tech Special Interest Group, Governance Board member of Ethical Equity, and committee member for TAG Network Midlands’ Women in Leadership Network.
But building a better future goes beyond just shattering glass ceilings. Tara champions the concept of an “agency for a modern workforce”, supported by Agency Director, Hattie. This commitment extends beyond her role as agency leader too; she’s also a dedicated mentor for Creative UK and Soho House x Creative Mentor Networks; as well as a Non-Executive Director (NED), and co-founder of homeless charity Let’s Feed Brum.
A respected leader and passionate advocate, Tara is a sought-after keynote speaker and panellist. She ignites conversations on a range of topics, including PR and personal branding, strategies for female founders to scale and secure investment, and the power of leading with empathy.
In short, Tara is a driver, an innovator, and a champion for positive change. She’s as passionate about building a thriving agency as she is about creating a more equitable future for all.
