Brace yourself, flavour fanatics: two of Great Western Arcade’s first-class foodies have teamed up to put on a tasty two-day event that you won’t want to miss. Delicatessen Anderson & Hill is taking over Miss Macaroon on 20 and 21 January, introducing 10 brand new macaroon flavours. With savoury seasonings, alcohol-infused additions, and some unexpected combinations, the exclusive range is available for just 48 hours and promises to mix things up.
Anderson & Hill will be bringing the very best products to the table for the experiment, with ingredients such as limoncello, truffle honey, black olive tapenade, and mozzarella making an appearance. Whilst macaroons are often celebrated for their sweetness, Anderson & Hill and Miss Macaroon have turned tradition on its head, making a mixture of savoury and sweet snacks.
Will Johns, the owner of Anderson & Hill, is looking forward to the reactions from those trying the mix of macaroons. He said:
“Food is a real labour of love for both the Anderson & Hill and the Miss Macaroon teams, and we take pride in delivering the very best to our customers. This collaboration has been a couple of months in the making, so to have the final flavours is really exciting. I hope that people enjoy eating them as much as we enjoyed making them!”
The takeover will run for two days, starting with a series of four ticketed tasting sessions on Friday 20 January. Each one will last an hour and will allow guests to exclusively try all 10 flavours before they are released to the public the next day. With only eight tickets available per tasting, those hoping to attend will need to be quick off the mark.
The event will be the first in a series of Miss Macaroon Takeovers, which will see other local tastemakers collaborate with the social enterprise to produce wild flavour combinations. Anderson & Hill and Miss Macaroon are neighbours in Great Western Arcade, so their fusion is yet another way that the Victorian arcade is bringing brands together.
Speaking about the collaboration, Rosie Ginday, the founder and managing director of Miss Macaroon commented:
“Anderson & Hill was a pleasure to work with. Given that this was the first event of its kind, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. Luckily, Will and the team were really on board from the start and together we’ve made a menu that we are really proud of.
“At the event, we can’t wait to help people discover – and in some cases rediscover – the magic of macaroons. You can guarantee that people will not have tried macaroons in this way before, so our guests are in for a real treat! We can’t wait to make this a firm favourite on the Miss Macaroon calendar and see what other combinations we can make in the future!” she added.
