TAG NETWORK MIDLANDS STRENGTHENS NON-EXECUTIVE BOARD

EAST VILLAGE.’s MD, Tara Tomes, has been invited to join the Non-Executive Board for TAG Network Midlands. The regional networking and membership organisation supports young professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders across all sectors, and has recently announced its new-look membership for corporates, individuals and SMEs.

Tara’s fellow Non-Executive Board Directors include Dee Kundi, Partner at Knights Plc; Jimi Shabir, CEO at Bootcamp Media; Kirsty Davies-Chinnock, Managing Director at Professional Polishing Services Ltd; Stacey Ryan, Director and Head of Centre at Oxbridge; Stu Wood, Director at Woodshires; and Tru Powell, Founder of Alternative Events, Aston Performing Arts, and Kandy Girl.

Speaking about her appointment, Tara said:

“I’ve always championed personal and professional development, having been a member of various organisations across the city throughout my career. I know, first hand, the value they deliver; whether you’re an intrapreneur pushing innovation within an organisation, starting your own business, or driving an organisation forward from the top.

The work of TAG Network Midlands has always stood out as pushing towards a bigger, better and brighter future for professionals, so I’m absolutely delighted to be on board. They offer fantastic memberships and incredible events, for graduates right through to established leaders. I can’t wait to see what 2021 holds for the organisation!”

TAG Network Midlands offers a range of member benefits – including mentoring, professional development and training. It also offers a calendar of regular events and webinars; the latest of which have welcomed speakers including Councillor Sharon Thompson, Yetunde Dania (Trowers & Hamlins), Fiona Allan (Birmingham Hippodrome), Inez Brown (HCR Law), Tony Elvin (Touchwood Solihull), and Professor Monder Ram OBE.

Earlier this year, during lockdown, TAG Network Midlands also introduced a Young Professional Board with members including Chair Sapreena Kumari, Aston University; Vice-Chair Hannah Floyd, Marissa Jacquet, Grove Tompkins Bosworth; Stephanie Taylor, Malmaison & Hotel Du Vin; Chukwudi Ononye, Chefiesta; Aisha Masood, West Midlands Police; and Devon Geary, Birmingham Tech Week.

Adding to Tara’s comments, Founder and Chair of TAG Network Midlands, Denise Morris, adds:

“I have always admired Tara’s commitment to supporting fellow entrepreneurs and leaders within the city. During lockdown, both TAG Network Midlands and EAST VILLAGE. have stood out as brands that have stepped up in delivering assistance to a wide range of professionals, so to have Tara on Board as a Non-Executive Director is very exciting! Myself and my fellow Board Directors are delighted and look forward to working with her.”
