An internationally acclaimed super model, who has graced catwalks in Milan, New York, Paris and Tokyo, has returned to the UK to launch a range of men’s jewellery.
Regularly seen wearing designer brands like Armani, YSL, Vivienne Westwood and Gucci, James Smith has teamed up with UK jewellery designer Terry Eleftheriou (terryterry). The two first met whilst working in retail and reconnected last year, via Facebook, with aspirations of launching a joint jewellery collection.
The duo has now designed and created a collection of 15-20 men’s jewellery items – terryterry4jamessmith – which has now launched and is available from www.terryterry.co.uk.
James, 23, and originally from Shropshire said: “Terry and I had always talked about our love of fashion and one day potentially designing our own range and had initially thought of producing t-shirts. Terry has established himself with his jewellery in the UK and jewellery does not conflict with any of the other fashion labels I work with so it just seemed the perfect idea to launch our own range.
James Smith signed to Models One in 2009 and, has since, walked on catwalks for Jil Sander, YSL, Armani, Burberry, Prada, Kenzo and Christian Dior. He has also featured in editorials for GQ Magazine and Dazed & Confused. He lives in New York and regularly spends time in Tokyo, where his worth has grown since being named in the top 50 models in the world four years running.
James has teamed up with jewellery designer Terry Eleftheriou, also known as terryterry: “We are so thrilled about our new collaboration as it was just a pipe dream a few years ago. Our bracelets all feature our signature logo bead and we really feel there is nothing else quite like it out there for men right now.
Terry’s signature beaded bracelets grace the arms of everyone from pop sensations, to reality TV stars and Premier League footballers. Made In Chelsea stars Jamie Lang and Sam Thompson recently wore terryterry4jamessmith bracelets on the E4 television show. Will.i.am and Prince are also fans, whilst boy band The Wanted wore the range during their farewell tour.
A terryterry4jamessmith range for women and a line in leather jewellery are also in the pipeline in the near future but, for now, both believe their latest designs – featuring semi-precious stones including Agate and Tiger’s Eye – will bring them success in the world of retail. There are also plans to develop a range for their chosen charity Mind, which cares for those battling depression. A percentage of every bracelet sold will go to the charity.
