READY, SET, GO: BIRMINGHAM SPRINGS INTO OLYMPIC

Sports-lovers rejoice: the Olympics and Paralympics are almost upon us and, to honour the Games, the city’s favourite retail destination has created the Bullring Fanstand. Taking over St Martins Square, Central Street and the Bullring terrace from this Friday (26July), the Bullring Fanstand will bring the excitement of Paris direct to Brum, complete with a big screen, bleachers, and a bar to enjoy all the action.

One of only 11 official fan-zones in the country, the Bullring Fanstand proudly has the TeamGB mark of approval as the best place to catch the Games. With a huge screen and deck full of seats: there’s only one place to be this summer.

The Olympics will run from 26 July until 11 August, while the Paralympics will take place from 28 August until 8 September. During this time, the Bullring Fanstand will have all the action, free to watch and enjoy in the city centre: from athletics, archery, and artistic gymnastics; to swimming, sailing, and skateboarding.

Speaking about the festivities, Bullring & Grand Central’s Marketing Manager, Danielle Bozward comments:

“We all saw firsthand how sports-mad Birmingham is during the Commonwealth Games, which had the city absolutely buzzing; so we cannot wait to replicate that feeling at the Bullring Fanstand. We are thrilled to be one of only 11 TeamGB fan-zones in the UK, bringing Brum together to watch, support, and celebrate the Olympics and Paralympics. There’s something for everyone – from avid sports-watchers to fair-weather supporters – so gather your friends, family, and colleagues and come together to enjoy Games.”

While the Bullring Fanstand is designed to be the perfect spot for sports lovers, there’s still plenty to enjoy for non-sports-buffs. Visitors to the Bullring Fanstand can also look forward to:

  • Live entertainment: talent from around the city will be putting on spectacular shows throughout the weeks; including a performing arts takeover by Birmingham Weekender from 23-26 August
  • Photo opportunities: strike a winning pose at the Bullring Fanstand with selfie-spots galore
  • Exclusive giveaways: Exciting prizes and memorabilia will be up for grabs for those taking parting in the day’s activities

“Our goal is to create an atmosphere that captures the excitement and unity of the Olympic games right here in Birmingham city centre. Events like this are not just about watching sport; they’re about building a sense of community, sharing experiences, and making memories. Whether you’re participating in tournaments, enjoying performances or catching up with friends at the bar – there’s something for everyone,” concludes Danielle.

The Bullring Fanstand will be open from 23 July and free to enter. To find out more, visit www.bullring.co.uk
