Little Chick Has Lunch On The Moon, is taking the children’s literary world by storm with its unique approach to self-belief and direct links with the education syllabus. Now the book has secured a distribution deal that will see it taken across the UK and Europe; really helping its ambitions take flight.
Specialist distributor for adult non-fiction and children’s books, The Roundhouse Group will provide over 25 years’ experience to help launch ‘Little Chick Has Lunch On The Moon’ in countries including Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland, to name a few.
Having met at the London Book Fair earlier this year, author Alison Delaney and Roundhouse Publishing Director, Matthew Goodworth, saw an immediate connection between the book’s messages and distributors’ connections.
Matthew Goodworth commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to have ‘Little Chick Has Lunch On The Moon’ join our growing range of children’s publishers, many of whom specialize in publishing diverse yet inclusive books that children will love to read and learn from.
“Alison has created a really unique way to instill self-belief in children, using Little Chick as a positive and relatable role model. We now have the wheels in motion for a June trade release, filtering down to our publishing networking before the sales start rolling in.”
Created by Alison Delaney, ‘Little Chick Has Lunch On The Moon’ is part of the ‘Little Bird’ project. Through the book, Alison is able to deliver ‘Dreams Workshops’, which support the book’s key messages in a programme tailored to the school environment. She has already completed 18 workshops across the UK to over 2,000 children who have benefitted from a Dreams Workshop in the UK. With this under her belt, Alison is now targeting a wider audience outside of the school environment to help benefit even more children.
Alison commented:
“A recent study has found that 88 per cent of young people in Britain today say they ‘lack confidence and doubt they will succeed in life’, which in itself proves that my mission is so needed! I want to open the minds of children to help create adults that are willing to believe and achieve.
“This distribution deal with Roundhouse is a big step for me as it sees Little Bird become a household name, which means that I’m able to help even more children,” she concluded.
Alison, who specializes in behavioural development, cultural change, and motivational speaking, is challenging the education system both home and abroad for a better focus on confidence encouraged by literacy.
Following the launch of Little Bird last year, Alison was approached by BAFTA and Emmy-winning producer and director Mandy Temple, who recently joined her on a trip to South Africa to deliver copies of ‘Little Chick Has Lunch on the Moon’ to 1,000 children as part of Little Bird’s “buy one, gift one” corporate initiative. For every book purchased by a corporate to sponsor a school or by an individual directly, another goes to a less fortunate child in another country.
The distribution deal with The Roundhouse Group will now help Little Bird’s ambitions soar, ahead of the release of the second book in the series – ‘Little Chick Finds His First Best Friend’ – later this summer. Distribution of the Little Bird series will be through Orca Book Services.
