PARTNERSHIP HELPS SHINE A LIGHT ON LOCAL BREAST CANCER SUPPORT

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Leamington Spa based retailer, Mantra Jewellery, has launched a collection that will help raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands. Breast cancer is now the most common cancer in the UK, with around one in eight women diagnosed in their lifetime, equating to around 62,000 each year.

The unique disc design necklace features a pink cubic zirconia stone with the charity’s signature ribbon swirl incorporated into the heart design. Available in Silver, and Gold- and Rose Gold-plated, the necklace has been created especially for Breast Cancer Haven, a national charity which helps women through breast cancer treatment, providing emotional, physical and practical support.

Throughout October, the necklace will be available as a gift set accompanied by delicate heart stud earrings. The set represents the inspirational mantra, ‘You’re someone special. Someone strong. Someone loved’, which is a powerful message celebrating each person’s unique individuality; and a loving message for a partner or friend.

“This unique necklace and earring gift set is the perfect, supportive gift for someone going through cancer or other illness; but can also be given as a thank you to someone for their help and support, or a powerful and motivating self-purchase as a reminder to yourself of just how special and loved you are,” says Jo Stroud, of Mantra Jewellery, the sister brand to award-winning Fabulous Jewellery.

“A mantra is a powerful statement, intended to make a positive impact on the way that you feel. For someone who is going through breast cancer, or who has experienced it in any way, this mantra acts as a powerful reminder of the love that surrounds them, and the strength they have as an individual. For someone who has supported a loved one as they go through treatment, this sends a message of love and gratitude,” she continues.

The mantra comes directly from a core objective of Breast Cancer Haven; to focus on the individual person going through breast cancer. As the charity explains:

“When breast cancer comes along, you can find yourself being relegated to the status of a patient and a passive observer in your own treatment. It doesn’t have to be that way. Breast Cancer Haven sees you as a person, not a patient,” says Fundraising Manager, Amanda Elliott.

“Breast Cancer Haven is delighted to be working with Mantra Jewellery on this fabulous necklace. The beautiful heart shaped design incorporates the breast cancer ribbon element of our charity logo perfectly. We are excited to be launching this new gift set for Breast Cancer Awareness Month too; a time when we can really focus on people experiencing breast cancer. The aim of this set is to not only provide comfort to those wearing it, but also help the work that we’re doing at Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands, with 25% of proceeds going directly to us,” she continues.

Based in Solihull, Breast Cancer Haven supports anyone affected by breast cancer for free. From its welcoming centre, counsellors, therapists and health professionals offer support needed to get people through the personal challenges of living with breast cancer. The centre is open to anyone, with no restrictions on geographical location or the need for a doctor’s referral. With six welcoming centres across the UK, and an expanding network of other services, the charity is there to provide women with the support that treatment alone can’t.

The earring and necklace set is priced at £65 in Sterling Silver and £90 in Yellow and Rose Gold-plated, and is available online and from the Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands centre.
