The Barber House Birmingham

NEW LOCATION MAKES THE CUT FOR THE BARBER HOUSE EXPANSION

The Barber House has welcomed the likes of Cillian Murphy, Lenny Henry and The Vamps, and now it’s putting even more customers in the hot seat with an expansion that sees the business more than double in size. Now located on Waterloo Street in Birmingham city centre, the all-new salon and shaving parlour opens for business today (Tuesday 26 February).

Oozing early twentieth century cool, The Barber House is the go-to destination for the best beards, classic cuts and tailored tash’s around. Targeted at the discerning gentleman, the team has been changing the game since opening the doors to the Bennetts Hill barbershop in 2014. Now, just four years later, the all-new location sees them increase from four to nine chairs as part of a £120,000 revamp.

Located at Neville House on Waterloo Street, in the heart of Colmore Business District and just a stone’s throw from city hotspots Adam’s and The Ivy Brasserie, The Barber House also launches a brand-new booking system. Still offering its signature walk-ins, customers can now also book in advance by calling 0121 236 7507.

Whilst the move marks a big change for The Barber House, the team remains dedicated to offering the experience that has made it one of the city’s most successful independents.

Founder Dale Sampey comments:

“I am so excited to finally unveil The Barber House 2.0. It has been a long time in the making, and we’ve worked so hard to create an environment that our customers will love. Increasing our capacity to nine chairs was integral to cope with the demand that we’re seeing, and we are now offering customers the option to pay a little extra to book an appointment, so we’ve increased capacity and made ourselves even more convenient. We, of course, will continue to offer our walk-ins for those who don’t mind waiting and all customers will still enjoy complimentary shoe shines and drinks from our bar when they visit.”

The Barber House was one of the first traditional barbershops to arrive in the city, marking the return to the good old days. Starting with a team of three back in 2014, the business now has 11 barbers, from apprentices to senior level, and will welcome two new employees at Waterloo Street.

“In the past four years we have seen competition increase in the city, but our customer base remains loyal and continues to grow, which is testament to the brilliant team that I so heavily rely on. I couldn’t do this all alone and it’s the guys and girls behind the chairs who help to make The Barber House experience what it is. Our new location means that we just have more room to do this; speeding up the waiting time for customers and offering even more services,” Dale continues.

The Barber House prides itself on perfecting the appearance of the modern gent from head to toe. Whether looking for a traditional short-back-and-sides or classic mohawk, customers experience steam preparation, hot towel application, soothing soaps, moisturisers and oils, finished off with a shave and splash of aftershave. This detailed approach to barbering is championed amongst The Barber House’s Colmore Business District customer base, but the rise to fame came when Dale’s team was showcased by hit TV show, Peaky Blinders. Since then, they have also welcomed a wave of famous faces including Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood, comedian Al Murray, footballer Rudy Gestede, boyband The Vamps, and Brum’s very own Glynn Purnell and Lenny Henry.

The Barber House opens at Neville House, 14 Waterloo Street, Birmingham today (Tuesday 26 February), offering both its traditional walk-in service and all-new pre-appointment bookings.
