NEW AWARDS LAUNCH TO RECOGNISE INSPIRATIONAL YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS THE REGION

Nominations have opened for the inaugural Inspirational Youth Awards, a ceremony dedicated to honouring exceptional young people from across the West Midlands. Taking place on 29 April 2023, the awards will recognise individuals aged between 16 and 25, who are making a positive impact in their community.

Set to be an annual celebration that puts the next generation in the spotlight, the Inspirational Youth Awards will demonstrate that young people can be a force for change, in their own lives and communities. The event will showcase people and projects making a difference across the West Midlands region.

The event, which is being hosted at Birmingham’s Eastside Rooms, will recognise young people in 20* categories, including Youth Activist of the Year, Young Leader of the Year, Young Carer of the Year, and Outstanding Contribution to the Community.

The Inspirational Youth Awards has been launched by BEvents, which delivers some of the region’s most respected awards ceremonies: Birmingham Awards; Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards; Midlands Property & Investment Awards; and the Women in Tech Awards.

BEvents’ co-founder, Ifraz Ahmed, celebrates the launch of the first Inspirational Youth Awards by saying:

“Young people are often the unsung heroes of our communities, working hard behind the scenes to make a difference. When we set up BEvents and delivered the first Birmingham Awards, back in 2015, we were determined to always deliver events that matter… and that’s exactly why we’re launching this special event. We want to place a spotlight on brilliant young people and celebrate the impact they’re having in their daily lives.

“The awards will not only bring together the finalists and their supporters, but we want the city’s business community to come out in force too! Instead of hosting tables of seasoned professionals, we hope to see young talent being invited along to celebrate their peers and experience how the region recognises greatness. If you know an outstanding young person who should be recognised, please get nominating!”

The event’s first sponsors have been announced and include Black Country community organisation Powered By Can; leading music and arts agency, Punch Records; and BMet, one of the largest further education colleges in the UK.

Suzie Branch, Vice Principle of External Development at BMet, commented:

“We at BMET are so delighted to be able to support the inaugural Inspirational Youth Awards. We personally believe in celebrating the achievements of young people, and after the challenges they have faced through COVID and various lockdowns there has never been more of important time to shine a spotlight on our outstanding young talent. We encourage all young people across the region to apply.”

Nominations are now open for the Inspirational Youth Awards and close on 27 March 2023. Visit www.inspirationalyouthawards.co.uk to nominate yourself or someone you know.
