Things are hotting up at Malmaison Birmingham as Chez Mal Bar gets set to bring the Cuban climate to the Mailbox, thanks to a new six-week project with Havana Club rum.
Launching this Friday (22 September), Havana Club will be the ‘rum in residence’ at Malmaison for the next six weekends serving up a specially crafted cocktail menu that will shake things up every Friday and Saturday.
Rum fans will get the chance to sample the Havana Club range, including Havana Club 3, which combines freshness and character to create an authentic Cuban Mojito. Teamed with mint and soda water, this is the perfect way to kick off the weekend.
Havana Club Especial is a true Cuban classic and features in two special cocktails featuring at the pop-up bar. The Martini of the Havanas fuses Havana Especial with Xante and Raspberry for the ultimate taste sensation, whilst the pairing of Havana Especial with Pusser’s Rum and Crème de Cacao creates something for the sweet tooth in Rum Chocolate Rum.
The continuous ageing of Havana 7 creates a cherry-tastic delight in Cherry Bomb, which sees the complex rum teamed with cherry liqueur, vanilla sugar syrup and lemonade.
Tom Gallimore, Hotel Manager at Malmaison Birmingham said:
“We’re always pushing the boundaries at Chez Mal Bar… it’s what we do best! Rum is set to be the next hot favourite on the bar scene and we wanted to get a foot forward by partnering with one of the biggest and best rum brands in the world.
“Our Havana Club pop-up bar is definitely set to shake things up every weekend; bringing some Cuban culture and style to Mal’s busy bar, for the next six weeks. I’m a massive fan of rum but I know that people often stick to what they know, so we’re hosting this Havana Club pop up to get people out of their comfort zones and exploring some north Caribbean cocktails. Come down and join us!”
Malmaison’s Havana Club pop-up is situated in Chez Mal Bar every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm until late. Cocktails will be priced at £9 and available from this Friday 22 September until 28 October.
