We’ve been keeping our TEMPER under wraps…

… until now! The EAST VILLAGE. team is excited to announce a new addition to the #ev.family, this time in the form of acclaimed graffiti artist TEMPER, who we start working with in January 2014. Originally from Wolverhampton, Arron Bird (aka TEMPER) has become one of the biggest names in the UK contemporary art market, and he has appointed EV. to raise his profile even further, ahead of some new major projects. You may know his work without even realising; he’s the genius mind (and hands) behind ‘The Lovely People’, the series of sculptures scattered around The Cube, Birmingham. He

Economic challenges force reduced service at SIFA Fireside

The challenging economic climate has forced local service, SIFA Fireside, to cut down the number of meals it is able to provide to the homeless community from the near 40,000 of last year to half this figure in 2014. The news is a devastating blow to this long-standing and award-winning charity, which is based in Digbeth. SIFA Fireside works with people who are homeless, affected by alcohol or otherwise socially excluded to improve their physical, social and mental wellbeing. One of its key services is a daily Drop-In that welcomes homeless clients for breakfast and lunch, whilst giving them a

Veronica Kumeta and Georgina Moseley pick up Woman of the Year 2013 Awards

Last month (November) saw the West Midlands Woman of the Year Awards take place at Birmingham’s very stylish Hotel La Tour. Run by City&Style Magazine founder Justice Williams MBE, the event’s aim was to recognise and profile women in the region that are making a difference in society, breaking boundaries within their fields and contributing to the economic well being of the region. The awards were also designed to celebrate the success, talent, achievements and outstanding contribution made by women in the West Midlands to enterprise, the creative industries, technology and civic society. We’re ready for our close-up

Last week, the EV. girls took some time out of the office to get in front of the camera for a change. With Danielle joining us as Head of Events, it was the perfect time to get some official team pictures. We commissioned the very talented Ryan Phillips to take our pictures; bringing his transatlantic touch to the EAST VILLAGE. brand. Ryan is usually found taking pictures of Jessie J, One Direction, Union J and other top superstars. He’s also recently completed an awesome campaign for Topman, as well as the official merchandise catalogue for Aston Villa Football Club. But

Money for charities and great causes across the UK

Here at EV. we love working with charities – having helped plan the Harry Moseley 2013 Ball, doing the PR for Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer and helping out with SIFA Fireside in Digbeth. It’s important that businesses, and their employees, help local causes because without volunteers and fundraisers, they wouldn’t be able to do the brilliant job they all do. If there was ever a company that lived by that, it’s Cadbury, who continue to care about the communities in which they operate. With that in mind, we were excited to hear that the CAW (Creatives at Work) Foundation has

Launching Let’s Talk Drink with Dudley Council and ORB

We had an exciting week this week, working with Dudley Council, Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group and ORB to launch ‘Let”s Talk Drink‘. Dudley has a problem with alcohol; with a rate of premature alcohol mortality higher in Dudley than the national average, and the area’s hospitals feeling the pressure of heavy drinking. Dudley Council wanted to launch a campaign that would trigger conversations, highlight health harms, look at the positive benefits of drinking sensibly and inform people living and working in the borough about the health implications of alcohol and discuss their own habits. ORB brought this idea to life

Booze Booth set to launch to get people talking about drink

Are you one of these people that says “I’m never drinking again” after a night out? Does your friend drink like a fish? Is a glass of wine an after-work essential? Is your other half an idiot when drunk? Most people love to drink but how much do we talk about it? Next week is Alcohol Awareness Week (18-24 November) and Dudley Council and Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group have launched an innovative campaign to get people talking about alcohol. Let’s Talk Drink aims to trigger conversations, highlight health harms, look at the positive benefits of drinking sensibly and inform people

ORB helps RBS make employees part of the bigger picture

One of the UK’s top banks has called upon the services of a leading strategic branding agency to help engage employees and better service customers. Known for interactive visual thinking sessions, ORB was brought in by Andrew Harrison, Managing Director of RBS’ Midlands and East of England Corporate & Institutional Banking, to host their ‘Think Outside The Bank’ staff conference. “I met Andrew at a business event and got talking to him about ORB and how we do things differently to other branding agencies. He mentioned his upcoming employee conference and I was immediately intrigued by his desire to re-enagage
