ITALIAN WINE CAFÉ CHOOSES WEST MIDLANDS FOR LATEST SITE

Italian Wine Café, Veeno, will be opening its latest venue in Worcestershire this month, as part of the company’s exciting expansion plans. Situated on Kidderminster’s scenic Riverside development, this is Veeno’s 19thsite, with an expected projection of 25 sites open across the UK by the end of the year.

Founded back in 2013 by two Italian friends living in Manchester, Veeno was born from their longing for an authentic Italian ‘Aperitivo’ in the UK. Building on the après work ritual of enjoying great wine and food with friends, Veeno offers a range of authentic Italian ‘spuntini’ appetisers, Sicilian wine from the company’s family vineyard, wine tasting events led by the experts behind the brand.

The new Kidderminster location takes over a 2,012 sq ft unit and seats 154 people at the Riverside development, which is built on part of the former Brintons Carpet headquarters. Sitting alongside a number of restaurant and retail brands, Veeno is perfect for any occasion; from client lunches and after-work drinks, to birthday celebrations and Friday nights with friends.

Nino Francesco Caruso, Co-Founder of Veeno, says:

“I am so thrilled that we are opening our next Veeno here in the Midlands, and in such a beautiful riverside location. Kidderminster is a really exciting area at the moment, with lots of great developments and more retail and hospitality brands capitalising on its up-and-coming status. We’re proud to be part of that.

“We’re dedicated to bringing the most authentic Italian experience to the area; with a unique selection of wines that you can’t get anywhere else. But, even if you don’t like wine, our fully-stocked bar offers the best craft beer and spirits around, with the added extra of delicious food too. I can’t wait to welcome people in to the Veeno family.”

Veeno’s own wines come from Caruso & Minini, Nino’s family vineyard back in Sicily, where the first vines were planted back in the 19thcentury. Maintaining a focus on quality and tradition, Veeno’s wines are quality-assured, making sure that from vineyard to glass, customers are getting the highest quality ingredients and fermentation-methods.

Food served at Veeno is imported from hand-picked Italian producers, to maintain the authenticity of the brand. Offering a broad menu of Italian ‘spuntini,’ including cured meats, cheeses, salads and more, the staff at Veeno are trained to recommend the perfect wine to compliment your menu choices, and vice versa. A dessert menu will also be available for those who want to indulge in a traditional Italian ‘pick me up,’ translated as Tiramisu, alongside a dessert wine, after a long day.

At the start of this year, there were 17 Veeno outlets in the UK, and with 12 to follow this year alone, there is a projection of 29 sites by the end of the year. This Kidderminster venue, which is located in the heart of Kidderminster and adjacent to the 325,000 sq ft Weavers Wharf retail development, will open its doors on 22 June, with Croydon opening a week later.
