Sutton Coldfield’s stunning country house hotel, Moor Hall Hotel & Spa, has teamed up with one of the world’s most respected Scottish independent distilleries to present an exquisite five course dinner that will celebrate and showcase some of Ian Macleod’s best whiskies.
On Thursday 20 July, guests will enjoy a five-course meal specially crafted by Moor Hall Hotel’s new head chef, Nigel Parnaby, who has recently joined the hotel from Hoar Cross Hall. Each of the dishes on the menu will be teamed with a dram from the Ian Macleod repertoire; from the slowly distilled complexity of Glengoyne to the contemporary punchy Smokehead, and Tamdhu, which is exclusively matured in finest Sherry Casks.
Claire Sumner-Hughes, Business Development Manager at Ian Macleod Distillers, comments:
“Serving up dream drams is what Ian Macleod Distillers is all about, so I am delighted that we’re teaming up with Moor Hall Hotel to put on this delightful dinner. We have spent time selecting the best of our whiskies for the fantastic dishes on offer, and we know that our selection will not disappoint.
“The menu features fantastic summer flavours, which has allowed us to be creative with our selections – we have even included some milder choices that are the perfect introduction for those who are not traditionally whisky drinkers. As well as enjoying a stunning five course dinner paired with five of our whiskies, you will also learn more about the history of Ian Macleod and why we remain so passionate and dedicated to creating premium spirits.”
The event will showcase the culinary skills of Moor Hall Hotel’s brand new head chef, Nigel Parnaby.
The impressive menu begins with Pan Seared Scallops and home-cured Gravadlax, served with a chilli, ginger and sherry dressing, followed by a palate cleansing green apple sorbet. The main course promises a taste sensation with a duo of lamb (rump and bon bons) with hints of cumin and apricots. Then, to satisfy the sweet tooth, an apple crumble with cinnamon ice cream is followed by Keens Aged Cheddar, as well as coffee and petits fours.
Sam Goss, General Manager at Moor Hall said:
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our fantastic food at this exclusive evening and are looking forward to presenting our guests with some brand new taste experiences with Ian Macleod’s whiskies.”
