FESTIVE FUN IN COVENTRY FOR CHARITY’S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS QUIZ

Heart of England Community Foundation kicked off the most wonderful time of the year with its popular Christmas Quiz last week. The festive annual event, which the Foundation has hosted for the past three years, saw teams from across the region battling out, all for a good cause.

The festivities saw 15 teams head to HOECF HQ to participate, but only one team could be crowned the winner. Bright stars, HCB Accountants, wrapped up the battle having pipped last year’s winner, The Friendship Project, to the post. The charity raised over £800 at the evening, which will all be used to support grassroots causes in the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

Guests enjoyed Christmas dinner before partaking in the festive-filled quiz, party games and a raffle draw, all which raised money for the Foundation. Thanks to generous donations from Escape Live, Worcester Races, Coombe Abbey, MAC Birmingham, Cabello Coventry, The Cocked Hat, Cadbury World, Ardencote Manor, The Toy Emporium and Harrison Beale & Owen, there were plenty of prizes up for grabs throughout the night.

Tina Costello, Foundation Chief Executive, said:

This is my favourite event of the year for the Foundation. It’s great to bring everyone together and kick off Christmas in style! We always have such a great turnout for the quiz and it’s fantastic to see some new faces in the room. A massive thanks to everyone who came to support us, it’s pleasing to know that all the money raised will help us improve the communities we’re connected to.”

The Christmas Quiz was a great end to the year for Heart of England Community Foundation. The charity has seen a tremendous 12-months, having recently announced its Building Better Lives initiative. The programme focuses on the need for purpose-built housing for vulnerable people across the region.
