FESTIVE FUN FOR THE FAMILY AT LOWER PRECINCT

Coventry’s premier shopping centre, Lower Precinct, has announced a jam-packed calendar of events that will offer fun for the family throughout the Christmas period. From film franchise characters and festive food, to free events for all ages, Lower Precinct proves that it really is the season to be jolly.

With the ‘Big Day’ looming and Father Christmas already under pressure, shoppers are hitting the high street to ensure their loved ones have another cracking Christmas. Welcoming around 200,000 shoppers each week, Lower Precinct is home to brands like Next, H&M, Schuh, New Look, Select, The Entertainer, Pandora, F Hinds, Clarks, and Lush; always favourites on the gift list.

On Wednesday 25 November, Lower Precinct is enlisting the help of the Thunderbirds to turn on the centre’s Christmas lights. There will be a chance to meet the Tracy Brothers and Lady Penelope, as well as a couple of special guests from Frozen, who will be meeting and greeting fans. The festivities will include live music, and festive food and drink to give you a real taste of Christmas. Whilst the kids wait to meet their favourite characters, they can also enjoy free face painting, balloon making, glitter tattoos, and more. The event starts at 3.30pm, with lights being switched on at 6.30pm.

The festivities will continue throughout December, starting with a Craft Fair and Willy Wonka’s Factory on Saturday 5 December. Shoppers will be able to browse a selection of craft stalls, whilst down in the Pocket Park, Willy Wonka will be hosting free Santa letter writing, bath bomb making, cupcake decorating, and a Christmas story reading corner.

The following Saturday, 12 November will be dedicated to all things Star Wars. With characters from the famous film franchise making an appearance as well as festive workshops, letter writing to Santa, and even a fancy dress competition.

Saturday 12 December will also see the launch of Lower Precinct’s ‘Man Crèche’, which will feature on 12, 19, 21, 22 and 23 December, throughout the shopping day. The Man Crèche is the perfect place for your partner and kids to get out from under your feet and let you shop in peace. They can kick back and relax on comfy seating, enjoying some festive food and drink, whilst watching the nation’s favourite Christmas films.

At the beginning of December, Lower Precinct will launch a competition called ‘All You Want For Christmas’, where people can submit their ultimate ‘wishes’ for presents for themselves and their loved ones. They will be able to do this in the shopping centre from 1-12 December and on Saturday 19 December, the competition will come to a close when Santa will be taking time away from his workshop to come down to Lower Precinct and grant some wishes. And given that “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear,” there will also be a choir there to really bring the shopping centre to life.

Lower Precinct will be easing the pain of Christmas shopping by opening until late on Wednesdays to give shoppers the chance to get everything on their love one’s Christmas list. The centre will be open until 8pm and car park until 9pm on 25 November and 2, 9, 16 and 23 December. The car park will be free from 3pm to 9pm on those dates.

Lower Precinct will also be supporting their charity partner, Myton Hospice, throughout the festive season. For more information about how LP are continuing to support Myton Hospice and for full details of Christmas events at Lower Precinct, please visit www.lowerprecinct.com/christmas.
