EV. INTERN: RHI

Tell us a bit about your placement at EAST VILLAGE.

During my time at East Village, I learnt some of the basics of PR, including writing press releases, helping with events and partaking in influencer research. I was lucky to have the opportunity to assist in a great Halloween event where I got to see how everyday in PR is different, and the variety of job roles needed to result in a successful event!

I hope I get the experience to work with you all again, I had the very best time and learnt so much. As I am in my last year of sixth form, my time at EV helped me to confirm my pre-existing love for PR, and helped to influence my university options.

What was your favourite part about working at EAST VILLAGE.?

I’ve especially enjoyed being able to see the businesses and restaurants that I worked with and been able to now visit them – such as Vagabonds and the Rolling Mill.

It was great to be immersed in the full PR experience with a such a helpful and professional team.

Finally, what are your top tips to students looking to secure an internship in the industry?

I secured my placement simply by putting myself forward, adding Tara on LinkedIn and asking for the opportunity, researching who is running the business and its overall ethos is definitely key. The worse case scenario is that somebody declines – however putting yourself forward, stepping out of your comfort zone and networking can lead to great opportunities! I had the very best time and learnt so much. As I am in my last year of sixth form, my time at EV helped me to confirm my pre-existing love for PR, and helped to influence my university options.
