Lower Precinct Shopping Centre has appointed EAST VILLAGE.Birmingham PR Agency to handle its marketing and events on a retained basis. The contract win sees the agency managing the Coventry shopping centre’s regional and national media relations, delivering a full events schedule, and handling the website and social media content.
EAST VILLAGE., which specialises in PR, marketing and events for retail brands and destinations, will help promote the shopping offer at Lower Precinct, which comprises 25% of the city’s shopping offer. The central shopping mall welcomes around 200,000 shoppers each week and is home to brands including Next, H&M, New Look, Select, The Entertainer, Pandora, F Hinds, Clarks, Lush, Carphone Warehouse, Caffe Nero, and Pizza Hut, to name a few.
Nicola Cormell, DTZ Centre Manager at Lower Precinct, said:
“DTZ and our client Scottish Life are excited to be working with East Village to engage with visitors and online customers with a comprehensive events, website and social media strategy for Lower Precinct.”
EAST VILLAGE. is working on a number of seasonal campaigns to help promote the stores at Lower Precinct and increase media coverage across the region and beyond. Added to that, the agency will also plan and deliver a calendar of events across the year, including food and drink fairs, family fun weekends, and public holiday celebrations. In addition to overseeing Lower Precinct’s involvement in the city’s large scale student shopping event, which welcomes over 5,000 students. EAST VILLAGE. also takes immediate control of website and social media content, with a strategy to create a shopping ‘community’ online, continuing the shopping experience way beyond people’s visit to the centre.
Tara Tomes, Founder and Managing Director at EAST VILLAGE., said:
“Lower Precinct is a really great win for the EV. team; having already picked up Great Western Arcade in Birmingham last year on a retained basis, this now adds to our shopping centre client list. We’re passionate about retail brands and destinations, and this is an opportunity for us to demonstrate how we can improve the shopping experience across multiple channels.
“There are some great high street brands at Lower Precinct and we’ll be working with them to raise the profile of the shopping centre across the region’s media. With the help of the creative team, who are working on a rebrand that will be rolled out in late spring, we will produce an engaging website that’s complemented by impactful social media. This will then lead through to an extensive events calendar, making Lower Precinct the ‘must visit’ shopping destination in Coventry,” Tara continued.
Set up in October 2013, EAST VILLAGE. is fast-becoming one of the West Midlands’ leading consumer agencies, with clients including Great Western Arcade, Big Green Coach, Malmaison Birmingham, Hollywood Monster, Midlands Fashion Awards, The Wedding Club, Emporium England, and Heath Lodge Clinic. The agency is also service Patron to LoveBrum, a new charity set up to unearth ‘hidden gem’ projects that help make Birmingham and even better city to live.
