Curry and comedy will be on the menu for a special gala dinner at the Botanical Gardens this autumn, when famed broadcaster, comedian and chef Hardeep Singh Kohli teams up with Itihaas’ head chef, Updesh Shrivastava, to create a bespoke menu for 200 guests.
The award-winning chefs will be serving up an Indian feast at the event, which is taking place on 16 September at Birmingham’s stunning Botanical Gardens. The duo will create a bespoke four-course menu, which aims to bring traditional tastes together with innovative ingredients. Hardeep Singh Kohli will also pay homage to his Scottish roots by adding whisky to the menu, giving guests a new take on Indian cuisine and whisky pairings in between courses.
Speaking about the event, Hardeep said:
“For many Birmingham is the spiritual home of the British curry. There are more curry houses in Birmingham than any other city. And there is more whisky in me than in any other Punjabi. A match made in Edgbaston.”
A comic and former BBC Celebrity MasterChef finalist, Hardeep Singh Kohli is one of the UK’s finest Indian chefs. He will bring his cooking prowess to Birmingham for this special event, giving guests the chance to not only taste his award-winning cuisine but also enjoy entertainment and comedy in between courses when he takes to the stage.

The event will showcase the best of Bollywood and British, with fusion cuisine created by Hardeep and Updesh, live entertainment, an exotic cocktail bar, and live compering by Hardeep Singh Kohli.
