Sundays were made for ‘brunching’, so we were delighted to find out that Malmaison Birmingham offers the city’s biggest Sunday Brunch in town. What’s more; brunch is a social event so we decided to invite some of the region’s best bloggers to join us for some fab food and great company last week.
We started off in Mal’s wine cellar with some Bloody Marys – perfect for anyone that was suffering from the night before. There was also the option to take advantage of the Sunday Brunch cocktail menu, which includes everything from Bellinis and Buck’s Fizz, to Screwdrivers and Martinis.
After sampling some of the finest cocktails in town, we went through to the dining room and started to prepare for our Sunday feast. Here’s the deal…
For just £19.95, you get to enjoy a host of delicious hot and cold food prepared by the Mal Brasserie chefs. From the Chef’s Table, situated in the private dining room, you can take advantage of unlimited hors d’oeuvres and visit the chef’s ‘cook station’ for a choice of eggs, omelettes, waffles and pancakes. There’s also hand-carved serrano ham, salads, patés, terrines, and soup of the day.
If that wasn’t enough, you can choose one of the brunch ‘classics’; Mal Eggs Benedict – soft poached eggs with sweet cured bacon, smoked salmon or spinach on toasted English muffin, with hollandaise sauce; or the Mal Big Brunch Breakfast – eggs of your choice, sausage, sweet cured bacon, grilled rump steak, flat cap mushroom and a tomato. This is then followed by one of Mal’s signature desserts; options include Crepes Suzette, sticky toffee pudding, crème brulee and the Mal ice cream sundae.
If your stomach can handle it, there is also the option to upgrade to the Mal Sunday lunch, which includes the same starter and dessert options but for £24.95, you can choose from the menu’s main courses. These include a traditional Sunday roast, steak frites, MalBurger, risotto, pasta of the day, and many more.
You can see the full Mal Brunch menu here and you can book online or call the restaurant on 0844 693 0651.
