Back for 2016 and bigger than ever, Birmingham Cocktail Weekend is building even more excitement amongst cocktail-connoisseurs with the announcement of three brand new venues.
The Botanist, The Bureau and Fleet Street Kitchen have been revealed as the latest venues to sign up to three-day cocktail spectacular taking place from 15-17 July. Birmingham Cocktail Weekend (BCW) is all about getting people to step outside of their comfort zone, encouraging them to venture further than their local to discover and experiment with new flavour combinations.
With some of Birmingham’s best-loved venues already confirmed to be taking part, the addition of The Botanist, The Bureau and Fleet Street Kitchen brings the total to 29 participating venues. Across the weekend all of the bars will serve up a cocktail available exclusively to BCW wristband holders for just £4.
The first of the trio to be revealed is Birmingham’s secret garden, The Botanist. New for 2016, Temple Row bar has an innovative drinks menu that focuses on highlighting the delicate and subtle flavours of British herbs. After celebrating its first year in Brum earlier this month, The Botanist has certainly made an impact on the city and is sure to create an equally impactful drink to mark their first year participating in BCW.
After enjoying the success of last year, The Bureau has signed up to be part of the action again for 2016. Located at No. 110 Colmore Row, The Bureau is a picturesque and original piece of architecture, complete with a roof top terrace that makes it the perfect place to stop off on your cocktail journey.
Completing the trio of new venues is Summer Row’s Fleet Street Kitchen. Another newcomer for 2016, Fleet Street Kitchen will bring its signature style of sophistication to BCW. Keen to prove its mantra that the best parties are in the kitchen, BCW wristband wearers are sure to be treated to warm welcome and a glass of something suave.
Speaking about the latest line-up, founder and organiser Alex Nicholson-Evans said:
“After the huge success of last year, it’s really important to us to ensure that Birmingham Cocktail Weekend 2016 is going to be even bigger and better. It’s great to see the return of The Bureau for 2016, as well as our new venues like The Botanist and Fleet Street Kitchen, who are eager to be part of the action! We are so excited to have these three venues on board and can’t wait to see – and taste! – the signature cocktails that they produce!”
With 29 venues already confirmed, including Malmaison, Gas Street Social, Hotel Du Vin, The Edwardian Tearooms, The Lost & Found, all of the Bitters ‘n’ Twisted group as well as The Jim Beam Hub at Island Bar, cocktail-lovers can look forward to weekend filled with tonnes of tasty tipples as well as exclusive events too. Wristbands are available to purchase from the Birmingham Cocktail Weekend website for only £6, and will not only allow the wearer to enjoy the exclusive signature cocktail in each venue for just £4, but will also grant access to all of the great free tastings, master-classes and events during the weekend too.
