BIRMINGHAM AGENCY CELEBRATES GROWTH AHEAD OF THIRD BIRTHDAY

Birmingham PR agency, EAST VILLAGE., is celebrating team expansion and a succession of new client wins as it prepares to mark its third anniversary. Recently grown to a team of four, the Colmore BID based company is emerging as a major player in the region’s thriving marketing and events scene.

Known for delivering ‘PR with personality’, EAST VILLAGE. is celebrating becoming a team of four after University of Nottingham Graduate, Jenna McDonald, joined as Junior Account Executive in August. This appointment comes with a success of significant new client wins, including being retained by Charter Brands to deliver marketing and PR for its first permanent bar, which will open in Great Western Arcade soon. In addition to World Padel Club Birmingham, based in Yardley, which has appointed EAST VILLAGE. to raise the profile of the sport in the region, building upon its success as Spain’s most popular racquet sport.

EAST VILLAGE. has also added to its retail client list – which already includes Great Western Arcade in Birmingham and Lower Precinct Shopping Centre in Coventry – being brought in to support Coventry Business Improvement District with marketing and events. This includes running two of Coventry city centre’s biggest events; the student shopping night in October and Christmas light switch on in November.

The run up to Christmas is set to be busy for the agency, as the team prepares to deliver PR and marketing for the Magical Lantern Festival, which comes to Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens later this year. Following its debut in London, the event features giant lanterns, festive food and drink, and a host of family-friendly activities. EAST VILLAGE. is also working with Birmingham Museums Trust to promote its Christmas venue hire and events across Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, ThinkTank and its heritage sites. In addition to a number of projects with Itihaas restaurant, following a successful menu launch in August.

“To say this summer has been a success for us is somewhat of an understatement. I’ve been proud of our client list since we began, working with the likes of Malmaison Birmingham, Hollywood Monster and thestudio venues, and it’s amazing to see just how much it has grown as we approach our third birthday. Six client wins in less than two months is pretty overwhelming but our team has grown and our expertise continues to build across our offering, and I’m just so proud of what we achieve and what we stand for as a young, dynamic agency,” said Tara Tomes, who founded EAST VILLAGE. in 2013.

“In the past two months, we’ve welcomed Jenna to the team as well as a host of fantastic interns through our ‘EV Grow Your Own’ initiative, which sees us supporting young talent and showing them the ropes when it comes to PR, marketing and events. We’re also on the lookout for a new apprentice to join the team, working with Birmingham Metropolitan College to find a passionate young marketer to work across our events and social media projects. I can’t believe that we’re three years old already but I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved, which is down to the amazing and dedicated team I have, as well as the brands who choose to work with a passionate and agile agency,” Tara concluded.

The agency’s expansion also comes as Tara, its managing director, takes over as Chair of BPS Birmingham Future. The membership organization for the city’s young professionals, Tara will lead on a number of key projects including the prestigious Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards; award-winning Future Mentoring Academy; and the recently launched BPS Birmingham Future Leadership Development Programme, in association with Aston Business School.

EAST VILLAGE.’s client list includes: Malmaison Birmingham, Coventry BID, Lower Precinct Shopping Centre, Great Western Arcade, Charter Brands, Itihaas, Birmingham Cocktail Weekend, Colmore Food Festival, World Padel Club Birmingham, Hollywood Monster, Purple Frog Property, Magical Lantern Festival, Brittain Opticians, Birmingham Museums Trust and LoveBrum.
