Itihaas Restaurant has been crowned ‘Most Authentic Indian Dining Establishment – Birmingham’ at this year’s LUX Hospitality Awards’; proving that it is yet again the hot choice for critics.
The annual LUX Hospitality Awards celebrate the best in the business, from restaurants and hotels, to tourist attractions and entertainment venues. Itihaas, which has a restaurant on Fleet Street and Brasserie in Selfridges, was named the judges’ choice for its authentic Indian cuisine.
Beating off competition from other local restaurants, Itihaas was recognised by judges for working “tirelessly over the past 12 months to achieve industry leading success, client satisfaction and market growth.” Raj Rana, owner and Managing Director of the restaurant group, said:
“The hospitality industry is one where excellent customer service must be a priority, and this is something that we always pride ourselves on at Itihaas. I set up the restaurant to provide people with an authentic royal Indian dining experience, and we live and breathe it. No expense has been spared to ensure that our surroundings mirror that of regal Indian dining establishments, that our food is not only delicious but the most exquisite cuisine possible, and that our team delivers courteous hospitality each and every time. I’m delighted that the LUX Hospitality Awards has seen just how much work goes into making this happen and has given us this prestigious award.”
Based in the heart of Birmingham, Itihaas is widely recognised as a pioneer for Indian cuisine, with menus that take you on a culinary journey through North India, Kenya and Mumbai. This award win comes just as Itihaas launches its brand new menu, featuring Scallop and Prawn Mustard seed Curry and Army Rum Lamb Shank, which is now available at the Fleet Street restaurant.
The LUX Hospitality Award joins a host of accolades for the restaurant, including ‘Best Restaurant in the Midlands’ at The British Curry Awards in 2012 and ‘Best UK Restaurant’ at the 2007 Cobra Good Curry Awards. Added to this, owner Raj Rana was acknowledged for his contribution to the British Hospitality Industry at a reception at Buckingham Palace by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh in 2008 at an event hosted for a select 350 from the British Hospitality Industry.
