After a show-stopping event in 2014, the Midlands Fashion Awards returns for the seventh consecutive year in October 2015. Applications are now open online for independent and emerging designers and creative talents from the Midlands, to showcase a collection on the catwalk.

Previous MFA participants have gained valuable experience and have had considerable success as a result. Michael Wallace, winner of the Emerging Designer of the Year category in 2014 has gone on to showcase his designs across the globe. Michael recently saw his collection hit the runway at the pre-Oscars fashion show in Hollywood, Los Angeles last Saturday alongside MFA 2014 finalist and Birmingham based designer Rose Perkins the designer behind the label Fashionista. In 2010 Emerging Designer of the Year, Victoria Bramwell enjoyed similar success with mix of Wonderland Couture showcased around the world and was one of the final 20 contestants in Rihanna’s fashion show competition STYLED TO ROCK on Sky living.

Successful designers will have their collections shown as part of the MFA 2015 catwalk show in October and awards will be presented for Independent Designer, Emerging Fashion Designer, New Emerging Talent, Accessory Designer, Make-Up Artist, and Fashion Stylist. Winning and being shortlisted for an award provides endless rewards for designers; from brand awareness to the chance to showcase to industry professionals.

2015 will also see the Midlands Fashion Awards introduce the MFA Independent Designers Catwalk Show, to take place in June. Giving designers outside the Midlands region the chance to use the MFA platform and take their brands to the next level, with invaluable experience and contacts. Entries are now open for designers to take part in the event; where they will showcase a collection of up to eight looks in Haute Couture, Evening Wear or Ready-to-Wear.

Jenny Eason, Founder and Managing Director of MFA, said:

“This is the seventh consecutive year for the Midlands Fashion Awards now, and each year the event, and talent, is only improving. There really is no better platform for young designers to show their designs in the Midlands. Applications are now open for designers with at least two years industry experience, based or educated within the Midlands, closing on 30 April 2015. I’m always excited to see the entries that come through for MFA and this year is no different.”
